Fees

Beginning in 2023, the NSW Government has implemented the Start Strong Affordable Preschool initiative, as part of the Early Years Commitment, to provide fee relief to families. Maitland Community Preschool receives funding in accordance with the Start Strong Preschool Guidelines.

How the fee relief works:

  • The funding for your child's fee relief will be provided to our service, directly from the NSW Government, and we will pass this fee relief on to you as a reduction to your fees billed each term.
  • You cannot receive fee relief at more than one early childhood education service.

Early Childhood Education

At Maitland Community Preschool we celebrate the ‘here and now’ of early childhood, but also recognise the importance of helping children prepare for kindergarten. We do this by actively facilitating the learning dispositions that set children up for life-long success, such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination, and reflexivity.

  • School Readiness

We provide learning opportunities in both Literacy, including music, movement, dance, story-telling, visual arts and drama and Numeracy, including understandings about numbers, patterns, measurement and spatial awareness as well as mathematical thinking, reasoning and counting.

  • Transition to School

One of our goals is to support positive transitions to primary school, we have developed good working relationships with our local feeder schools, and we help to prepare all our students for their new educational setting.
