In 2024, our Tucker Trail project was lucky enough to receive support from the Landcare and Woolworths grant. This grant has helped us bring an exciting new learning experience to our educators and children, focused on native Australian plants and bush tucker.
A special highlight of the project was when we welcomed Linda from Oz Tukka Australia. Linda joined us at Preschool to share her knowledge of bush tucker. She taught our educators and children all about native plants, how they’ve been used by Indigenous communities for food and medicine. Linda made the experience interactive by encouraging everyone to touch and smell the plants. It was a fun and educational experience for all involved!
With Linda’s help and the support from the grant, we’ve started creating a bush tucker garden. Over the next few months, we’re excited to see it grow.
