In 2018 we were successful with our applications for funding in both rounds of this program, which aims ‘to support preschools to improve their learning environments to contribute to inclusive, safe and supportive preschools and positive experiences and outcomes for children’.
With the first grant, we will be doing some playground renovations around the Tuckeroo tree in early 2019 to create a wet/dry creek bed area with increased opportunity for exploration and play-based learning using natural materials.
With the second grant, we will be engaging Head and Heart Mindfulness to deliver a specialised educational program which teaches children emotional intelligence, self-regulation, social skills, resilience and confidence in a fun and meaningful way. During 2019, each class will have a series of sessions with one of the trained visiting educators.
