Hunter Water – Love Water Grant.

In 2024, our Service was proud to be a successful recipient of the Hunter Water Love Water Grant.

With the support of this grant, we were able to install three wicking garden beds in our outdoor learning space. These innovative garden beds are designed to use water efficiently by drawing moisture up from a reservoir at the base, helping plants thrive with less surface watering. This not only supports sustainable water use but also provides children with hands-on opportunities to learn about gardening, environmental care, and the importance of water conservation.

In addition, we collaborated with Jess from Dhiiyan Art to create a beautiful mural in our playground. The mural reflects our deepening connection to Wonnarua Country, the land on which we learn and play each day. Through vibrant, meaningful artwork, the mural celebrates local culture and fosters a greater understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal perspectives among our children, families, and educators.

Together, these projects have enriched our learning environment while reinforcing our commitment to sustainability, community collaboration, and respect for Country.
